FORGOT YOUR DETAILS?

NEW STUDIENTS

  • Since most studios are heated to 41º degrees, you need to have a large towel, a yoga mat, and a water bottle for class.
  • We also sell mats, water. Plus rent mats and towels.
  • Dress as light as possible. Men wear shorts or bathing suit. Women wear sport top and shorts or a swimsuit. T-shirts are bulky; tank tops are better.
  • Come on an empty stomach. No food 2 hours before class. A small quantity of simple, easily digestible food is recommended for the meal prior to class.
  • Drink lots of water for several days before your first class if you're not in the habit of drinking water. Doctors estimate you need at least 2 liters per day for normal body maintenance. Double that for doing Bikram yoga. If you drink large quantities of caffeine drinks or eat mostly processed foods it can effect your body's ability to tolerate the heat, so please cut down on these items in preparation for class.

SMILE  and  ENJOY  YOURSELF, it is ONLY YOGA :)

Our aim is to provide everyone with the best possible opportunity to enjoy their Bikram Yoga practice. Help us to help you by observing the following:

  • What should I wear? You are going to sweat so try and avoid loose clothing.
Women normally wearsports tops and bottoms. Men normally wear shorts with a T-shirt or sports top being optional.
  • Always sign in at reception at least 15 minutes before class, even if you have signed in online, to make sure you don’t lose your spot.
  • The studio is shoe free so please leave your footwear in the reception area.
Leave your bags in the changing rooms AND put any valuables into the studio lockers. Please make sure all mobile phones are switched off.
  • The yoga room is a quiet space; please NO talking once you enter the room and be mindful of the noise in the waiting areas outside the studio.
  • If you are wearing strong perfume or scent or have had a sweaty day, take a shower before class.
  • Place a towel on your mat which can be rented from reception if you don’t bring your own.
  • Avoid the front row until you are really familiar with the postures as people behind you will be copying you from there!
  • Let teachers know of any injuries you have before the start of class.
  • Listen to your teacher. They will be able to correct your postures, guide your mind and keep you positioned on the right part of your mat for other students.
  • Bring 1.5 litres of water to class with you. We sell water at reception if you don’t bring your own.
  • If you have any queries or concerns, please ask to speak to a manager.
  • Later comer will not be admitted in class.
  • Keep the energy in the room by stay the full 90 minutes class, ONLY leave in an emergency.
This means going to the toilet PRIOR class.
  • LEAVE  YOUR  EGO  WITH  YOUR  SHOES  OUTSIDE  THE  ROOM :)
  •  You might feel very tired after class. This is absolutely normal and a good sign that    your body is cleansing. Your energy levels should be restored to normal within several classes.
  • You might find yourself feeling extremely energetic and experience difficulty sleeping. Don't worry--this is a good sign that the yoga is truly filling you up with energy. You don't have insomnia. You just have more time to do the things you enjoy.
  • You might feel sore or stiff the day after your first class. Come back to class as soon as possible! Your body is waking up and coming alive and you want to keep the process going!
  • You might feel nauseous, dizzy or have a headache after class. This could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Please drink lots of water before returning to class. Or it could be a sign that you were trying so hard that you weren't breathing normally. Please breathe normally during every posture.
  • You might experience some skin irritation. This too is normal, it means that the skin is releasing toxins. Showering directly after class will wash the toxins away. It will also help normalize the body temperature.
  • You might feel very hungry after class for a while, or you might lose your appetite completely. Both reactions are normal. If you are concerned about your weight, don't worry too much either way. Once you get into a regular practice pattern, your appetite and your weight will normalize. You'll find yourself feeling and looking leaner and younger.
